What is a Collaborative Playlist?
A collaborative collection allows multiple Google accounts to add or remove videos from the same list. This is perfect for team research, study groups aggregating lectures, or friends building the ultimate party mix.
How to Enable Collaboration
1. Open YouTube on desktop or mobile.
2. Navigate to your Library and select the playlist you want to share.
3. Click the three-dot menu (...) and select Collaborate.
4. Toggle on the setting that says "Collaborators can add videos."
5. Copy the special collaboration link and send it to your team.
Limitations to Keep in Mind
* No Sorting Control: Collaborators can add videos, but only the owner can permanently rearrange them.
* Privacy Settings: The collection must be Unlisted or Public for the collaboration link to work. It cannot be Private.
* Analytics: Tracking total duration of a constantly growing collaborative list is tricky. We recommend using a length calculator daily if you need to monitor the aggregate watch time.
