1. Advanced Sorting Options
Most users drag and drop videos to reorder them. Did you know you can auto-sort? Under the playlist settings menu, you can sort automatically by "Date Added", "Date Published", or "Most Popular". This saves hours of manual dragging for large series.
2. Set as "Official Series"
If you are a creator making episodic content, you can mark a playlist as an "Official Series". This tells the algorithm to recommend the next video in your specific playlist, rather than a random video from another channel!
3. Auto-Add Rules
You don't need to manually add videos. In the advanced settings, you can create rules based on keywords. For example, any future upload containing the word "Podcast" in the title will automatically be appended to your Podcast playlist.
4. Custom Start and End Times
If you share a link, you can add `&t=60s` to the URL to start the first video exactly one minute in. This is incredible for skipping long intros when sharing study materials.
5. Calculate Aggregate Length
YouTube natively truncates the total duration for large libraries. To see exactly how much watch time is in your library, use a dedicated Length Calculator tool which pulls the exact seconds via the API.
